April 13, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
On Second Saturday, April 13th, Emelie Weber Wade of Lunadendron will share her newest handwoven dress, “Turtles All the Way Down,” created for April’s Who Am I? Who Are We? prompt, “Cycles of Nature.” Visit her space in the Big Room Studios at Pink Dog Creative, 344 Depot St., Suite 101, to see the dress and a live weaving demonstration.
Emelie is a weaver and fiber artist creating cloth for wearable art on an 8-shaft loom using sustainable materials. In her space, you’ll find her loom surrounded by colorful cowls, scarves, crop tops, hair accessories, and wall hangings, as well as recent handwoven dresses from this year’s River Arts District Artists theme, Who Am I? Who Are We? Each piece is one of a kind, and designed, handwoven, and sewn by the artist, with inspiration from flowers, trees, and insects.
