Heather Lewis was born in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, she earned her BFA and MFA in Painting and Drawing at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the University of Dundee, Scotland. She lives in Asheville in the USA.

Heather's work has been shown in Museums and galleries internationally, including The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, Scotland; The Affordable Art Fair, London; Hickory Art Museum, Hickory, NC; The Visual Art Center of New Jersey, Summit, NJ; and Hunter College/Times Square Gallery, New York, NY.

Her current work explores themes of belonging, and identity, in places and situations. Work ranges from the challenging to the transcendent, recording ordinary/extraordinary events of daily life. She says “I use various approaches and references, along with observation to describe life in some way. Like driving at night, or seeing reflections in a window. I experiment with ways to give a sense of the deeper experience”.
