My background as an Environmental Scientist, Biological Researcher and Teacher gives me a very different viewpoint when taking photographs and looking at and participating in the world around me.

I am a certified and working Restoration Ecologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, degreed Professor/Teacher .....and Photographer. I have worked in these career fields for over 45 years. I have spent countless hours researching, studying, writing environmental impact reports and teaching hundreds of students and teachers, with an interdisciplinary approach…. ‘in the field’… in nature.

As an ecologist, with this background, I see each image having an environmental message and a connected story.

As an artist, I see the beauty and unusual nature of each image. I try to blend these two viewpoints with thought provoking images that help document a story; an ‘issue’.

'Environmental journalism'.... with a more ‘sensitive eye’; exploring the relationship between nature, history and humans.
Through these stories and images; I hope to raise awareness of environmental, conservation and historical issues, as well as provide peaceful-thought provoking images to live with.
