Cristina is originally from Spain and as a zoologist she has traveled the world studying animals like wolves, leopards, and cheetahs. In her own backyard in Asheville, she has transformed her suburban backyard into a thriving ecosystems where black bears, foxes, frogs, and owls are regular visitors. It is from these wildlife encounters that inspires her art.

Her creative process is loose, intuitive, and playful. In her vibrant mixed media pieces she combines acrylics, inks, spray paints, modeling paste, charcoals, and/or metal leaf in the first layers of a piece. She finishes all of her pieces in oils when the whole pieces come together.

In some of her pieces, only oil is needed.
