Exploring Paper
Natalie, a lifelong learner and multidisciplinary artist, is a native of the WNC area. She studied Visual Art at Blue Ridge Community College and Appalachian State University. Natalie continues to grow as an artist by exploring her craft through workshops, self teaching, and reflection. Her hand painted and hand cut pieces have a strong focus on color, pattern, and rhythm and are primarily inspired by nature, memorable life events, and dreams. Originally starting with two dimensional collage, she is evolving as an artist by developing skills in intricate paper cutting and constructing three dimensional pieces using recycled materials such as paper and fabric, as well as researching the history and traditions associated with this art form.
In addition to galleries in the WNC area, Natalie's work has been featured in Hendersonville, North Carolina's Bearfootin' Art Walk and Auction and ArtScape Outdoor Gallery. She has collaborated on projects with students at local schools in order to give back and be involved in her community. Natalie also seeks enrichment through travel and other artistic pursuits including writing and music.
