With the construction of the North Tower at Mission Hospital nearing completion, many River Arts District artists were delivering their artwork to the new building this week. The call for art came out nearly a year ago, in the fall of 2018, and it’s been a project that includes original and commissioned work from a wide variety of artists in many mediums. From our RADA President, Nadine Charlsen creating rich watercolor scenes from around the district, to illustrator Stephanie Peterson Jones creating cheerful and bright mixed media sure to bring a smile to a child. There are immense clouds, rippling ponds, soaring mountains; all echoing the world outside the doors, here in Western North Carolina.
These original pieces will bring comfort, calm, and even joy and wonder, to visitors, patients, and employees at the hospital. Congratulations to the artists for delivering this amazing work!
