The Wendy Whitson Artist Fund, established by the River Arts District Artists Association (RADA), is dedicated to fostering diversity, inclusion, and sustainability within our vibrant artistic community. Through our three scholarship programs, we aim to support artists in the RAD through the following awards:
- Artist Retention Grant: Provides critical support to RADA members who are at significant risk of losing their art space. By offering financial assistance to those in need, we strive to help them maintain their creative workspace, thus enabling them to continue contributing to the cultural and artistic fabric of our community.
- Continuing Artist Membership Award: Provides support to RADA members facing financial hardship by covering the cost of an annual membership and guide + map listings. This award ensures that both current and returning members can sustain their professional presence and continue accessing the benefits of RADA membership without further financial strain.
- New Artist Membership Award: Enhancing the richness of our artist membership by supporting emerging artists from diverse backgrounds. This scholarship is designed to make the benefits of RADA membership accessible to talented individuals who may face barriers to entry, ensuring a more inclusive and dynamic community.
Our mission is to empower artists, celebrate diverse voices, and preserve the artistic spirit that makes the River Arts District a unique and thriving hub of creativity.

- Scholarship Program Launch Date: September 15th
- Application Period: September 15th – November 1st
- Application Deadline: November 1st, 11:59 pm
- Winners will be notified by November 22nd
- Announcement and Celebration at the Annual Party
